Knife is good. Sheath is bad for a fast draw. It holds the knife too tightly in place. Attempting to adjust the retaining bolt on the knife body is difficult. This bolt is actually what holds the knife in place in the sheath. However, it’s a star drive bolt (as opposed to phillips or standard, or even hex key) and of an odd size at that. Not that easy to just screw it in a few more turns, and ease up the friction. The resistance is so great to pull the knife from the sheath that occasionally, sheath and knife come away at the same time from my belt.
Knife is good, but, steel could be a little harder to make holding an edge better.

This was a gift for my older brother, who needed a little hand-held. He really liked the blender, but the case had to go!

Easy to use and compact. Love that it all fits in a convenient size storage bag. The ejector button for the beaters can be a little tricky but otherwise it does it’s job well and it has certainly made many cup cakes since it joined our family.

I am so happy with my new Oster hand mixer. The case makes it so easy to handle and know where all the attachments are. The long mixers make it just perfect for mashing that deep pan of potatoes your getting ready to mash. I’m really glad I found this product.

I only use this mixer for some light baking, but it has always worked well for me. It has lots of power, and I usually never need to use it above the 2nd or 3rd speed mode. It’s easy to clean and store. Does the trick for me!

As a casual baker and cook, the mixer works great. I’ve used it a few times for cookies and brownies, and it’s easy to use and clean. It’s powerful, but not too powerful that the batter or flour flys all over the place. Everything stays in the bowl. The attachments are great, but I’ve only needed to use the regular beaters so far. The case that it comes in keeps everything together in a nice little package. I’d recommend it to others.

Way too powerful! I purchased this because I liked the idea of the retractable cord… I returned it! Forget mixing cocoa, flour, etc. It will end up all over you and the counter. For some reason the manufacturer didn’t see the need for a REAL low speed.

This Oster hand mixer is a worthy bearer of the Oster name. It is extremely powerful for any mixing job and makes short work of it as well. My only complaint is it may be a little bit too powerful. Definately start on the number 1 setting before increasing the speed. For the price it is outstanding.

English July 9, 2010 at 4:34 pm

Don’t waste your money on this one. No speed control, too heavy for me, cord wouldn’t retract, and beaters were hard to eject.

Freedman July 10, 2010 at 4:23 am

Same complaint as others. I’ve ended up with spatters and flour dust all over so I’m afraid to try anything higher than the lowest speed. The retractable cord was a great selling point for me. Too bad it doesn’t work well. I have to feed it in a few inches at a time. When the cord is extended it’s so curled it gets in the way and makes the appliance difficult to use. I’ve only had this mixer a year and I’ve replaced it.

I had owned another Oster Hand Mixer for years but the motor finally died. So I ordered this one without reading the reviews. What a disappointment. It is heavy for long use, it is too fast and splatters stuff all over and the beaters are hard to remove. Oh, and the retractable cord is cranky and doesn’t always work. I’m looking for a new mixer…any suggestions?

I purchased this mixer at a Meijer store for $30. It’s going back for a refund today, and I haven’t even bothered to turn it on to try it. After reading the reviews on this product, I’m truly puzzled as to why this problem hasn’t been mentioned yet: it’s too heavy and thick for a hand mixer. I’m average height, and so is my countertop. Yet I have to hold this mixer up high to use, and it’s awkward. It’s also quite heavy, which normally would seem an impressive feature for a product field filled with cheap and junky items. But in this case, it makes it less functional. I can’t even imagine using this for more than a few minutes. It might work for a tall guy in a workshop, but for the average female with less upper body strength and height, it’s not practical. Worst hand mixer I’ve ever tried!

Chang July 11, 2010 at 4:18 pm

I just bought this mixer to use for mixing cookie dough. The lowest speed (1) is very high and it only goes higher. The cord is difficult to retract, and I couldn’t get it to retract all the way back into the mixer. There is about 18 inches of retractable cord hanging out. I specifically bought this mixer because the cord feature sounded convenient.

Also, the insert holes for the attachments are not identical, but the beaters are, so it was difficult to tell if I was putting them in the right way.

I’ll be returning this mixer.

After one year of light use, the plastic blade receptacles broke rendering this overpriced product useless. Previously, I had found the blades difficult to eject – requiring much thumb pressure – and the mixer blades never seemed to seat with a definitive ‘click’. I replaced a perfectly good 25 year old $10 dollar mixer with this product to ‘treat’ myself. Wish I had my old mixer back!

This knife is great for water sports. Was purchased as a gift for a rafting guide. Blunt tip is great for preventing injury or puncturing raft. Curved edge makes cutting tangled rope a breeze. Finger hole allows for comfortable use and security. Safety clip for sheath ensures knife does not inadvertently fall out. Easy attachment kit for sheath to mount to life jacket. GREAT product.

There are a lot of things to love about this little fixed blade knife. One is that it’s so low-profile and carries so small that you practically forget you have it. Another is the way it locks into your skeleton via the index finger hole. You just can’t drop this knife. Yet another is the relatively big, rounded Zytel scales (handle), which fill the hand and give a nice back-heavy feel to the knife. Along with the distal taper, this makes the blade feel virtually weightless.

Finally, this knife is sharp and aggressive. It’ll cut you right out of a seatbelt or other web harness if need be. It’s also the fastest way to “untangle” rope, fishing line, or anything else. Compared to even the most convenient folder, it practically jumps into your hand. And because of its small size, if you ever do have to use it to defend yourself, chances are that your target won’t know you have it until it’s far too late.

Despite the Kydex sheath’s configuration, this is too bulky to be a neck knife. I would carry it on my belt, inside or outside the waistband. If it were made of a boutique steel, it would merit 5 stars, but then it would cost too much. I like this knife just the way it is.

I have used this mixer for three years to whip cream and to make medium thick milk shakes. It is very good. I got one cup with it and purchased two more that are too short to lock on for mixing, and must be held by me. I do turn the cups, even the one that fits the mixer, by just turning the cup as the mixer is running. For whipped cream I take the cup off once and stir with a spoon, but for shakes it does an excellent job. The cup that came with it is a 28-ounce size.

Finally received the Milkshake Maker as a gift after wanting to get it for years. This works like a charm, just like the the old ice cream shop makers of the past. The maker is beautifully chromed and very heavy–it’s not going to get accidentally knocked over or slide across your counter, and the double disks on the shaft make a thick, airy shake (or “frappe” for some New Englanders, “cabinet” for some others) that is absolutely perfect. The metal mixing container is solid and large enough that when the maximum recommended amount of liquid is added you can have two large glasses of sweet, silky beverage. Forget the small, plastic makers. This is the real thing!

I purchased this for my husband who loves to make milk shakes and HE LOVES IT. He has had no problem with its ability to make a shake to his liking. Looks great on my kitchen counter too.

Battaglia July 15, 2010 at 4:59 am

I purchased this item as a wedding gift for our daughter and new husband. They have an extended family of four children ranging in age from 7 to 16. They loved the gift. When it came they immeadiately made milk shakes and said it performed very well. They were pleased with the look, the operation and said it made very smooth shakes in a very breif time. It did not have the tendency to clog up as blenders do when they try to make a milk shake. So far, it is everything I had hoped for.
