
I have baked for 20 years, and waited a long time for a stand mixer. I did not want one that took up my counter space. I have worked at bread for years and wanted help to make three loaves a week, plus oatmeal cookies and a few other things.
Pros: this is a light portable mixer, love the two bowls and the hooks match the holes,square or circle, easy! easy to clean and run.
makes incredible cookies, buy a copy of GRAND CENTRAL BAKING and never go wrong!!!! and heavy cookie sheets.
TO MAKE BREAD, UNDERSTAND BREAD. Bread is not fast!!! you can do proper slow mix,or fast” over night rest bread”.
I have had wonderful results with the following Italian loaf.
1.5 cups water, 1 tablespoon yeast, one table spoon sugar, 2 table spoons olive oil, PUT IN THE SMALL BOWL WITH THE COOKIE DOUGH HOOKS! mix and add one cup of flour , mix for at least two to three mintues… add slowly 1/2 cup flour,,,, makes a thick pancake batter. Just let it run for 5 minutes.
Change off to the bread hooks,,, slowly add flour until you reach three cups…. slowly,,,,, over 15-25 mintues.
develops the dough.
let the machine and dough rest as needed, scrape bowl as needed,( every mintue) the dough will wrap around one hook, its ok, stop an let the dough rest down.
1.5 water to 3 to 3.5 flour worked in the mixer over 20 -30 mins with rests has given me wonderful bread. rest in plastic, oiled bag over night,in fridge, bake as rolls or pizza in 425 oven. works like a dream..
Made bannana oatmeal muffins while making bread, I love have two bowls!!!!! this was a lifetime buy for a frugal baker.
Allowing the dough to develop slowly will give results, flour and water take a long time to marry.
This mixer has taken a lot of mixing pain out of artisian loaves,and the prenix stage. DO NOT BE IN A RUSH, ADD FLOUR SLOWLY. Also do presoaks.

Chocolate Candy Cane Cookies Recipe!?
INGREDIENTS1 (8 ounce) package PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened3/4 cup butter, softened1 cup sugar2 teaspoons vanilla2 1/2 cups flour1/2 teaspoon baking soda4 squares BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate, melted1 (6 ounce) package BAKER'S Premium White Baking Chocolate12 hard peppermint candies, crushedDIRECTIONSPreheat oven to 350 degrees 12 speed stand mixer F. Beat cream cheese, butter, sugar and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add flour and baking soda; mix well. Blend in semi-sweet chocolate.Shape tablespoonfuls of dough into 52 balls. Roll each ball into 3-inch-long rope. Place, 2 inches apart, on baking sheet, bending top of each slightly to resemble a candy cane.Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned; cool 5 minutes on baking sheet. Transfer to wire racks; cool completely. Microwave white chocolate as directed on package; drizzle over cookies. Sprinkle with crushed candies. I decided to purchase this item after viewing the various models. I use it for cake making and also for bread making. It is beautiful to use and the choice of speeds is encouraging. I purchased a Sunbeam in the ’80s as a gift for a friend and never forgot the brand. What a reliable machine!

I PURCHASED THIS MIXER FOR THE PURPOSE OF USING FOR HEAVY DUTY MIXING JOBS. I MAKE CANDY AS A BUSINESS, AND THIS MIXER DOES NOT STAND UP TO THE TEST. I CAN NOT
EVEN MAKE DIVINITY WITH IT, WHICH IS ONE OF MY BEST SELLERS. THIS CANDY REQUIRES CONSTANT MIXING AT HIGH SPEED FOR APPROXIMATELY 14-16 MINUTES AND THIS MIXER CANNOT HANDLE THE STRESS. IT MAKES LOUD STRAINING NOISES WHEN I TRY TO USE IT. I WISH I HADN’T BOUGHT IT. I NEED SOMETHING MUCH MORE POWERFULL.

The mixer is cheap and does the job. I do have problems getting it to spin at times. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money and I got what I paid for a cheap mixer.

So far, so good! I adore this mixer. I have made two of the recipes in the cookbook that came with it, and they turned out perfectly. It does an amazing job kneading dough, I have made cinnamon roll dough with it and I do not have to touch it, every last speck of flour is kneaded in and turns out great! The mixer is a little loud, which I expected, and heats up a bit with hard batches but so far I have had no problems at all. Love how it ramps up and love how I can walk away or clean up my kitchen mess while it is going and it just shuts off when it is done! That is so nice! So I would say all in all, it kicks my kitchen Aid in the behind!! I am very pleased with this machine, worth every penny.

I love this mixer. I can knead 3 loaves of bread with ease…it does everything I had hoped for. My only complaint is that I was suppose to receive a free food processor attachment within 30 days of purchasing the mixer. I purchased my Cuisinart mixer in September of 2009 but never received the free attachment.

It was worth the research and the price. It works hard without overheating, has excellent capacity and practical accessories. Cookies were the first test, then bread dough…through it all the motor barely warmed. I have a feeling this is one of those purchases we’ve made that will be handed down to the next generation of cooks or bakers. Well done Cuisinart…and no, I have not been paid for this review

The mixer works great and has a lot of very nice features. The only issue with it is that it is not brushed chrome as listed. The finish is nothing like my brushed chrome toaster, coffee maker, or microwave. It has a silver/grey painted finish. It is not brushed chrome.

I hope this review Helps People Choose this mixer, I bought this mixer for my 4 person family. We are trying to learn to make more home cooked meals and heart healthy and diabetic type’s foods. I like this mixer and so doe she whole family, It’s Nice and all metal Not to heavy but it heavy duty. It has allot of nice features like soft start when pushing power button and it doesn’t just take off if accidently on a higher speed. The mixer turn up its speed slowly but once it up to speed it does a wonderful job. I went to the local store and bought to larger cake mixes and we make a huge double batch and put it all in and ran the mixer and it not only did a great job the cake seemed to bake up fluffier. I think it does a good job.
Mixer is nice has tons of nice features the head locks when you open and close and you can hear it lock, It has Soft Start and a Slow speed up so No splatter, Splash guard with hole on it to add more stuff it Solid one piece. Power cord is not to long perfect for a counter top, and the lid on top is removable not just a swing open. I don’t have any of the attachment yet but in time I will there not that expensive but look like they can take a beating.

First off, given all the awful customer service reviews about Cuisinart, I don’t understand all the comments about their great warranty, expecially in comparison to Kitchenaid’s 1 year warranty. It sounds like you can’t count on any service from Cuisinart, so I discount the warranty completely. For serious sourdough makers, the amount of flour is limited to about half of Cuisinart’s claims. I managed to do a quick mix with closer to 12 cups of flour, but after a few minutes, the dough had climbed over the top of the dough hook guard. I was able to divide the dough in half and mix each half, although the dough did stick to the hook the whole time, just not over the guard. I exchanged it for the 7qt mixer and found the 7 quart capacity not much better even though the bowl is really deep. This time I stopped the machine before it crept over the dough hook guard. Since I’m new to mixers, this doesn’t seem to be just a Cuisinart issue. I’ve read similar capacity issues in Kitchenaid reviews. I imagine flour capacity must be for cookies and cakes and not for dough. My biggest concern with this machine (and the 7qt one) is how long it will last kneading dough a couple or more times a week. Looks like the longest reviewer has only owned this machine a year or so.
