This mixer literally changed my life. I am now a cook.
Before I got my mixer- I won mine in a contest - I was making cakes from box mixes with my hand mixer, and I was buying my pie shells in the freezer section of the grocery store.
Now I feel like there’s very little I can’t do. Favorites are pizza dough, pound cake, pastry crusts (for quiche and pot pies and Jamaican beef patties…)and every day bread.
I watched all the cooking shows for years, but it just never clicked that they were all using stand mixers because they KNEW something. Oh yeah they do!
When I first got mine, I was afraid of the loss of counter space. Ha! I use it as much as I do my stove and it can have as much counter space as it needs! It comes with a very handy recipe book with all sorts of basic items. It’s a keeper.
The KitchenAid website also has a lot of recipes and forums. If I’d known a long time ago, what I know now, I’d have saved pennies if I had to for one of these. They are definitely worth the investment. It is so nice to cook a pie without worrying if I have a pie shell. Now GREAT pastry is just a few minutes away.
Does anyone know about Kitchenaid stand mixer?

I got this for my birthday last year, and I use all the time- for everything from breads, pizza dough and cookies to cakes, frostings, fillings and whipped cream. It has endless possibilities! The 5-quart seems to be big enough for my use. I can’t imagine having a bigger one as this one is so powerful! I never use the pouring shield though, as it seems to be more of a nuisance than a help. The nickel color looks great with stainless steel appliances. It is worth the money. I got the ice cream maker attachment which is fun too, though I do not use it very often.
Recently reviewed the purchase of this mixer in white that I bought for my daughter. I purchased this one for my wife, it is our second one. The first I bought for her 29 years ago. I bought it in white back then. The first one has been used regularly because my wife is a very good cook. We kept waiting for the old one to die, well with KitchenAid, that never happens. So after 32 years of marriage I bought her the Brushed Nickel KSM152PSNK. If you do not have a KitchenAid mixer and you like to cook, you need one. Spend the money and buy one. I know we will get at least 32 years of service from our new one.
Only a true Kitchen Aid mixer fan would buy so many of these. I started out over twenty years ago with a cream one, traded, then got the 5 qt industrial gray and gave it to my sister, then a black 5 qt which my husband gave to a friend because he felt we didn’t need two, and my favorite, this one. I also gave a cobalt blue 5 qt to my brother in law although he rarely cooks and often works in Belgium and Japan; and a bright red one for another friend. I sold commercial restaurant equipment for 17 years and their products were essential to our business so I write from more than personal experience.
For my home with cherry cupboards the rich copper mixer earns a place on my counter. This is a hard working and beautiful companion in the kitchen especially if you can’t afford the space or price of its larger model. I will be getting the new sweep batter paddle for it next since I already have grinders, juicers and every other attachment.
Just remember these are very heavy and should go on the counter rather than on a shelf or in the garage. Use the paddle for mixing heavy batters and the dough hook for bread. Don’t get stuck using just the wire whisk for everything. I keep all the paddles in the bowl.
I’ve only had the mixer for a month, but I love it. I plan on having her for a very long time. I have been waiting 14 years to get one and my hubby finally got me this one for my birthday in October. I named her Molly the Mixer. I fell in love with the chrome finish. She was a little more expensive because of her color but totally worth it!! I like this model with the head tilt better then the lift because I have more space to pour in the I ingredients. She’s beautiful and matches all the stainless steel appliances. I would recommend her to anyone! Happy mixing.
What more can I say? Just what I wanted, but way to expensive for a few pieces of cling plastic. My KitchenAid if very happy to be dressed up!
I have had this for 3 years and it still gets great comments. It has delaminated a bit where the clear outer layer has pulled up from the colored layer beneath it, but seems stable for now. It is NOT peeling off the mixer.
I may have to replace with a new set (maybe the plane decal set?) in a little while.
It is expensive, but less expensive and a lot more fun than a silly, girly-looking quilted cover. It all depends whose mixer it is in the family. This one is mine.
Yes, I admit that I too am an avid fan of Alton Brown and his Good Eats. When I opened this flat package on Christmas morning I think my husband was worried I’d think this was cheesy but I hurried to the kitchen to pimp out my fire engine red Kitchen Aid. He was right, I was a little anxious, but the flames look sweet against the shiny red mixer and all my holiday guests got huge grins on their faces when they got a glimpse of my custom decal job.
Applying the decals was easier than I could have thought. And I was relived that if I do get tired of the flames I can just peel them off with the help of a little rubbing alcohol. Now I’m ready to dazzle if I can only find a way to get Alton in MY kitchen…
Decal was the perfect size for my 4.5 quart mixer. Sellers description was very informative and item was received quickly.
This decal itself is made well, though I would appreciate some more instructions and tips on applying it to my kitchenaid. I put it on too close to the front curve and it wrinkled up in the front, so I tried taking it off and of course the adhesive didn’t work as well. Then I bought a bottle of spray adhesive to fix it and must not have been slow enough peeling it off and it ripped this ugly jagged tear. So I stopped totally and have resigned myself to leaving it on and smoothing down the edges EVERY SINGLE DAY. I have 5 kids and plenty else to do as we just moved across the country, so I have yet to carefully peel it off and attempt to get my money back. I would like to try again, but I’m afraid if I damage it further, I am out the 20 bucks+ that I paid, and I’d rather have it on than not. Sad, huh?
It’s worth the money b/c you can’t find anything like the flames anywhere else, but if you want turtles or something like those white decals you put in car windows from Wal-Mart or wherever, you could get those cheaper or the same price. If you do buy it, go slow and don’t try to make it curve over the front unless you plan well and overlap it slowly. And get some spray adhesive to strengthen it.
Overall, I’d try one more time (when I get the time), and call my problems me being impatient, but I stand by the need for better directions.
What fun! Now my mixer can be upgraded to look like Alton Brown’s! I’d tried the decals designed for cars and it just didn’t work. Thanks for these decals just for my KitchenAid mixer. I bought a set for me and for a friend who is also an Alton Brown fan.
I saw these a long time ago, but never would have purchased them for myself. Yay, I got them from a good friend for Christmas!!! So cute and they add a wacky little touch to my otherwise somewhat traditional kitchen! Those who know me, know that with the amount of baking I do, these “flames” are a very apropos representation of my favorite pastime!!! A cinch to put on the mixer!
