We are extremely happy with this bowl. It is a genuine part for the 4.5 quart mixers. The bowl that came with our mixer has no handle, so we can store it inside this bowl, on the machine - no extra counter/cupboard space required! Just this past week, we were in an outlet mall and saw the same bowl for about $20 more than Amazon. We didn’t think we even needed a second bowl until we got one; now we use it in most recipes.
The Kitchen Aid Immersion Blender may be employed either as a blender, either as a blender so you don't need to buy them both. As a cooking woman I'll tell you the space for storing cooking tools is very scant and never enough. So having a tool, this time a blender, that can be used as a mixer also is very important.
It is easy to use with only one hand and can be employed for all kinds of cooking recipes, like making smoothies, baby food, cutting potatoes or mix other solids or liquids. It penetrates deep into the solids and the blades are terribly robust so you can use it even for robust plants or fruits without troubling that it will broke.
The great thing about the Kitchen kitchen-aid Aid Immersion Blender is that it fits in your hand, not so small or big and is reasonably light, weighting only 2.9 pounds.
My kitchen is small so having it so long is disturbing me. Anyhow is better than having it too tiny. Also it comes with three little lids where you can blend your ingredients easily. You can make extraordinarily simply soups or juices with Kitchen Aid Immersion Blender and you don't need to put them in the mixer which is impractical as they come big and takes a lot of space, plus the cleaning job after you finish.
I have used it for fresh tomato sauce, shrimp bisque, and even milk shakes. The KHB300 includes a deep plastic container that allows smaller quantities to be processed. I do not use it regularly but I'm pleased I have it when I do.
It does a better job of whipping cream or egg whites than anything I have tried. I have used it to make mayonnaise too. The only obstacle is the whisk is too light for heavy ingredients,eg whipping butter or cream cheese.
Nevertheless, with some encouragement it works for tiny jobs in client kitchens.
The other negative is the device doesn't fit my hand well and if it's used by me for at least 3 mins my hand cramps. I have small hands and short fingers, but it could be that if my hand was a bit smaller or even larger it might fit the design better. Fortuitously, the device is powerful enough that 3 mins of constant use is rare.
I would not have acquired a Kitchen Aid Immersion Blender - A Very Handy Little Tool">kitchen aid immersion blender if I had not required to cook away from my own kitchen. But having purchased one for the road, I ended up buying one for my home.
Does the new attachments fit on the older model kitchen aid mixers?
I am kitchen-aid buying an older model K5 kitchen aid mixer off of craigslist and wanted to know if the attachments that you buy in the store would fit on this model

I LOVE this kitchen-aid attachment and would highly recommend it to ANYONE!! I have most of the kitchen-aid attachments and this is by far one of my favorites (along with the pasta maker). It requires almost no skill to operate and makes the most delectable ice-cream that will amaze you and your friends. I make all of my recipes from the Ben & Jerry’s cookbook – sometimes I use raw eggs; sometimes (when sharing with friends) I use eggbeaters. The first ice-cream I made was the caramel one from the kitchen aid booklet and it was very strange in texture. I then made a light chocolate ice-cream from the mixer bible book which wasn’t very good. Then I started using Ben & Jerry’s recipes and suddenly I was eating the best ice-cream I had EVER had in my life – seriously, NOTHING COMPARES TO THIS ICE-CREAM. Every single Ben & Jerry’s recipe has been outstanding. Once you have a good ice-cream base, you can add whatever you like. Like B&J say, there’s no such thing as bad ice-cream
Friends who try this ice-cream all say it’s the best they’ve ever had. Every single person. It is seriously good ice-cream. I serve it in little tiny bowls because it is super rich, and when you eat really good food, it’s all about tasting each bite and savoring the moment, not scarfing down bowls of it like you have to with the light kind so you can feel satisfied. This ice-cream is amazing. And did I mention, it’s easy to make?
This is a first for me to write a review on anything, but I am significantly disappointed. I love my Kitchenaid mixer so I saw the ice cream maker as a natural progression. Though I followed the ice cream maker instructions to the letter, my first attempt at using the ice cream maker burned out my mixer. Now I am having to replace my 6 qt, 575W Kitchenaid stand mixer.
i received this item as a gift and used it a few times to make ice cream. After only a few use I noticed that the plastic attachment that hooks into the paddle/mixer cracked. It still works, but it looks like it could fail at any time. The bowl and mixer made good ice cream, but I just wasn’t impressed that after only a few uses it broke. Normally KitchenAid is quality but in my case not so much on this one.
Based on the other positive reviews though it sounds like my experience was a very limited occurance. Perhaps I just got a defective unit.
I love my KitchenAid stand mixer. Slicing potatoes was a breeze. I wish there was a blender attachment, but I did purchase the slicer and grinder attachments. My only complaint is that it is so heavy, but maybe that is because of the quality of the product.
i had absolutely no problem with the attachments at all, if you read the directions theres nothing to it. The meat grinder is the best, i wish i would have bought it sooner. I hope this helps.
I had purchased this unit based on a friends recommendation. Since purchasing it I have made 2 batches of French Vanilla Ice Cream and 1 batch of Orange Sorbet. Both were ready to serve in less than the recommended time. I don’t know if my freezer is colder than other folks, but the unit works very well.
One evening was quite warm in the house, the ice cream froze in less than the suggested time, but it did start to melt quickly while scooping it out of the bowl and dasher. So we just had to eat it up faster, some how I don’t find that a negative.
The orance sorbet tasted so much better than anything I have ever purchased from a store.
I am certain you will enjoy the fresh and creamy taste of either home made ice cream or home made sorbet.
This attachments are total waste of money. I have had this attachments for two months and still can’t quickly put it together.
Cons are:
1) Many small parts – makes it very hard to figure out which part goes where specially when you are in hurry.
2) Gets clog even for simple ingredients. I am trying to grinding few peanut. Grinder stopped working twice. I had to stop and unclog it.
3) Loss of food in the big white worm. Food does not come out completely. The last bits get stuck in the funnel. Not suitable for small batches.
4) Parts are so tight – hard to separate for cleaning and change of attachment. I am constantly running to my husband to detach the attachments.
Pros: Are there any??
Expensive machine – not worth it. Kitchenaid has good marketing and good product placement. May be they should have good products?
