I’m disappointed with this product because it wants to come unstuck from my brand new Kitchenaid. It was easy to apply but the same day I noticed that that it started to come up a bit around the edges and on the gentle curves over the top.

KitchenAid Professional 5 Plus 5 Quart Mixer **OR** KitchenAid Artisan 5-Quart Stand Mixer?
Hi,I am considering buying a KitchenAid stand mixer. On Amazon.com these two mixers caught my eye: kitchenaid 5 quart artisan stand mixer the Professional 5 quart and the Artisan 5 quart. The Professional costs $299, and the Artisan costs $249. Cost really isn't a big matter for me. I've heard a lot of good things about the Artisan and it seems like it's the most popular out there. I haven't really heard much about the Professional. Which mixer should I get? Please list some pros/cons if you know of any!Thank you

What fun! Now my mixer can be upgraded to look like Alton Brown’s! I’d tried the decals designed for cars and it just didn’t work. Thanks for these decals just for my KitchenAid mixer. I bought a set for me and for a friend who is also an Alton Brown fan.

I saw these a long time ago, but never would have purchased them for myself. Yay, I got them from a good friend for Christmas!!! So cute and they add a wacky little touch to my otherwise somewhat traditional kitchen! Those who know me, know that with the amount of baking I do, these “flames” are a very apropos representation of my favorite pastime!!! A cinch to put on the mixer!

What more can I say? Just what I wanted, but way to expensive for a few pieces of cling plastic. My KitchenAid if very happy to be dressed up!

Decal was the perfect size for my 4.5 quart mixer. Sellers description was very informative and item was received quickly.

Yes, I admit that I too am an avid fan of Alton Brown and his Good Eats. When I opened this flat package on Christmas morning I think my husband was worried I’d think this was cheesy but I hurried to the kitchen to pimp out my fire engine red Kitchen Aid. He was right, I was a little anxious, but the flames look sweet against the shiny red mixer and all my holiday guests got huge grins on their faces when they got a glimpse of my custom decal job.

Applying the decals was easier than I could have thought. And I was relived that if I do get tired of the flames I can just peel them off with the help of a little rubbing alcohol. Now I’m ready to dazzle if I can only find a way to get Alton in MY kitchen…

This decal itself is made well, though I would appreciate some more instructions and tips on applying it to my kitchenaid. I put it on too close to the front curve and it wrinkled up in the front, so I tried taking it off and of course the adhesive didn’t work as well. Then I bought a bottle of spray adhesive to fix it and must not have been slow enough peeling it off and it ripped this ugly jagged tear. So I stopped totally and have resigned myself to leaving it on and smoothing down the edges EVERY SINGLE DAY. I have 5 kids and plenty else to do as we just moved across the country, so I have yet to carefully peel it off and attempt to get my money back. I would like to try again, but I’m afraid if I damage it further, I am out the 20 bucks+ that I paid, and I’d rather have it on than not. Sad, huh?
It’s worth the money b/c you can’t find anything like the flames anywhere else, but if you want turtles or something like those white decals you put in car windows from Wal-Mart or wherever, you could get those cheaper or the same price. If you do buy it, go slow and don’t try to make it curve over the front unless you plan well and overlap it slowly. And get some spray adhesive to strengthen it.
Overall, I’d try one more time (when I get the time), and call my problems me being impatient, but I stand by the need for better directions.

I have had this for 3 years and it still gets great comments. It has delaminated a bit where the clear outer layer has pulled up from the colored layer beneath it, but seems stable for now. It is NOT peeling off the mixer.

I may have to replace with a new set (maybe the plane decal set?) in a little while.

It is expensive, but less expensive and a lot more fun than a silly, girly-looking quilted cover. It all depends whose mixer it is in the family. This one is mine.

This item is just plain fun and easy to apply. Makes me wish I had more KitchenAids to put on some of the other designs they have. I might get one of the other designs and put it on my bread maker.

I’ve had my mixer for 10 years. My husband calls it my cement mixer. It is heavy. I don’t keep it on my counter because it takes up too much space, so I move it every time I need it from cupboard to counter. I don’t mind because this mixer is consistent in the way it beats! I only make cakes, icings and cookies, but it performs beautifully today as the day I received it. I’ve never had any problems. What makes this mixer even better are the additional attachments. On days when I ran out of ground beef or ground pork, I didn’t have to make a trip to the grocery store. I only had to reach into my freezer and pull out some sirloin or pork shoulder butt and then grab my meat grinder and within in no time, I had ground meat! Same for the pasta attachments. When I ran out of spaghetti, I only had to pull out the mixer, make some pasta dough and push it through the spaghetti attachment. This mixer is versatile and will not let you down. I love my mixer!

I have had two empire red Artisan mixers in the past five years. They are gorgeous BUT both have suffered from the same three serious problems: 1. the slow speed burned out in the first month on machine number 2 when I kneaded soft brioche dough and now the mixer has only two speeds: fast and faster. 2. the mixing bowl sticks to the metal plate so that dislodging it requires a healthy husband or a liberal amount of WD40 or both. 3. the pin holding the armature to the base slides out when the machine gyrates, which it does something fierce when kneading for more than three minutes. This is one of the worst engineered products I have ever owned, and Kitchen Aid’s service is not helpful. I’m going to buy a Breville next and abandon KA for good.

I LOVE this, not only does it do exactly what it is meant to, it’s beautifully pink too :) My cupcakes and sponges are so much flufflier and everything I have tried turned out well. I am looking forward to buying other attachements – like the pasta one! Knowing a donation to a fabulous cause was part of the price made it very worthwhile…Think Pink :) x

I highly recomend this product to anyone who loves to bake

I ordered this pink model for my daughter, and she LOVES it!! I have had my Kitchenaid mixer for 30+ years, so I know she’ll have it to enjoy and use forever. If she’s happy, then I’m happy too!

Jenkins June 9, 2010 at 12:36 pm

This mixer a bit heavy, but that is a small price to pay for a well built work horse.

I’m glad I got this because once I started researching baking, I was no longer interested in retail baked goods (except for Dunkin Donuts’ Old Fashioned Donut). I plan on baking American classics with my kids just as a part of their childhood even though I plan on serving them an authentic Chinese menu otherwise. American desserts are just fun but there are too many bakeries that take liberties with using too much sugar and butter and sometimes artificial fillings to make children loyal customers. I’d rather bake at home than buy anything that tastes like they didn’t clean the sheet pans between bakings.

I bought a new pink 5 quart in 2004 for my 23 year old daughter. She used the machine for cookies 12 times. The mixer is now in for repair for the second time. None of repair cost was under warrenty. Kitchen-Aid not what it used to be.

I couldn’t be better pleased with this decal set. The decals themselves are wonderful quality – well worth the price, which I thought was a bit steep, until people started bragging on my beautiful mixer! A dear friend in Maine wrote me that I surely had the fanciest mixer in Alabama. My Mom has been telling everyone how talented I am, and I keep reminding her that it was a set of decals – my talent (or lack thereof) had nothing to do with it! With the 5 year projected outdoor lifetime of the decal set, I feel confident that inside, covered up and in its cabinet, my mixer will be fabulous forever! I truly did not want to put it away in the cabinet after “decorating” it! The only warning I would give anyone buying this set is to be very careful as you’re placing the roses – they’re really sticky!
