Some of the reviews made me apprehensive but I decided to buy it. So far I am very satisfied, it makes very good coffee, easy to program, and has a different style than most coffee makers. I have the toaster also, which I am also happy with.
When it comes to coffee makers there are thousands to choose from. Among these thousands there are differences in price, functionality, warranty and style. Sure, you can go to the closest big box store and pick one up for about 20-bucks, but generally the machine is just plain boring. Why not spend some more cash for better longevity, better functionality and sexiness-factor? We all like to be sexy, so why not your kitchen?
The roasting drum roll please... The top 5 snazzy, sexy and sensational coffee makers for 2005 are:
1. The Cuisinart Grind & Brew Thermal Coffee Maker: Best of all is it's timed grinding and brewing feature. You wake up in the morning to the sound, smell and taste of the freshest ground coffee. This model is very tall and looks exceedingly modern with all of it's stainless steel. You have to ensure you have enough space in your kitchen for the Grind & Brew - not only in terms of the overall length, but the lid, which is located on top, has to open to pour the water in. It has a thermal carafe, so it doesn't burn your coffee and you can get warm coffee up to 2-hours later. It also uses charcoal water filters to clean the impurities out of your water. It has a 3-year limited warranty.
2. The Melitta eclectrics ultramarine all-metal stand mixer Javapod One:One, Coffee Pod Machines: This is a space age looking coffee machine which makes one cup at a time. The only bummer with this type of coffee maker is it can't be used in high elevations...or kaboom! It comes in five snazztacular colors: red, white, black, mango and kiwi. It makes one bold cup of coffee in about a minute. It can host many other brands of coffee pods, so you are not just stuck on one kind and it can also make tea. It has a 1-year limited warranty.
3. The Hamilton Beach Eclectrics Coffee Makers: These metal beauties come in the most fantastic modern-retro designs and colors. Colors really wow you with intensity. Think about this...we pick paint sometimes because we like the name and now you can pick a coffee maker for the same reason. The Eclectrics series comes in Intrigue Blue, Apple, Moroccan Red, Sugar (ok, this one's white), Pineapple, Licorice (black) and Seabreeze. For color and design alone these coffee makers are snazzy, sexy and sensational. An added bonus is its warranty: 3 years, one of the best in the industry.
4. Kitchen Aid Pro Line 12-cup Coffee Makers: So you like coffee and you like lot's of it. This machine will be your Godsend. It comes with a portable second warmer. This second warmer is great for those winter Sundays, where you can put it on your bedside table to read and drink coffee all day long, without having to get up. It is also great if you want to brew two types of coffee like decaf (it even comes with an orange lid) and regular at the same time. It's made of die-cast metal, has a timer and a two temperature heat setting. For great tasting coffee this gem comes with a Ion exchange water filter. It has a 2-year warranty and if you, for some reason, get a replacement the replacement has a 2-year warranty.
5. Capresso CoffeeTEAM Luxe Coffee Maker : Capresso coffee and espresso machines are simply the crème de la crème of coffee makers. This pearl has a programmable grind and brew feature, it holds a quarter pound of coffee beans and it has a filter indicator to tell you when your water filter is pooched. It brews to over 200 degrees, so it really extracts the flavor from the beans. It has a one year warranty, but I doubt you will need it. It only comes in black or white.
There you have it, 5 snazzy, sexy and sensational coffee makers to make your kitchen smile with pride. Do yourself a favor, buy a good coffee maker. It will last longer and it looks good in your home...best of all your coffee will taste better.
Where to find Hamilton Beach Eclectrics products in the color Sea Breeze?
I have been looking for nearly a year now and I can't find a coffeemaker, stand mixer, or a retro eclectrics ultramarine all-metal stand mixer drink mixer ANYWHERE! I already own the toaster and blender. I have looked on eBay, Amazon, Overstock, Yahoo, in tons of stores, and regular web searches. Any suggestions where to find them?http://marketplace.chef2chef.net/kitchen-store/Hamilton_Beach/Hamilton_Beach_65119_Eclectrics_All_Metal_Retro_Drink_Mixer_Sea_Breeze_B000A1FFMW.htm

I had this coffee pot for just over a year. It functioned consistently well up until that point. I liked how fast it brewed coffee and the ability to pull the pot out while brewing to pour a cup, but you can get these features with a lot of coffee pots out there. My biggest complaint up until it broke was that the plastic around the glass carafe easily stained and was a pain to keep up with.
After the coffee brews, there is two hours until it automatically shuts off. What happend with mine is that after two hours the little red light would shut off, but the pot remained on and kept heating the coffee. It had to be unplugged after using for safety, and that was kind of a deal breaker with me! It would not have been appreciated if I had gone off for vacation and had the pot remain on while I was gone.
I feel that this coffee pot is way over-priced for the amount of use I got out of it and I will not be buying this brand again. If you already own one, keep this electrical problem in mind.
We ordered this coffee pot Dec 3rd, to be told by Today’s concepts that they have to go through the manufacturer Hamilton Beach to get it. Well, Hamilton Beach already told me that it is discontinued. The problem is that Today’s Concepts, Amazon and Foto Connection are advertising that they have this product in Apple color, but once you order it, you’ll find out they don’t. They are all going through Hamilton Beach who doesn’t make it any more. It’s a waste of time. Just and FYI for you all.
I wanted an all metal coffee maker, not one with plastic in all the areas that contact the water. I really feel it is unfair advertising to have this allowed to call itself all metal.
I am concerned, as many others, with heated water contacting plastic surfaces as heat causes leaching of many chemicals.
I replaced a Cuisinart which is much quieter. This pot is very noisy. The Cuisinart chimes when it is finished brewing. On this, when the noise finally stops, it is done. It is awkward to fill. I did not keep the box or I would have returned it.
It is nice looking, especially in the blue.
I bought this item 2 years ago….banana yellow with the toaster to match. Very heavy, looked very sturdy and I thought this would be the coffemaker I would have for years. We make coffee only once a day, on most days of the week. The heating element pooped out 6 months after our purchase. O.K., the company made good and sent us another one, it was under warranty. It lasted 1 year of light use, and the heating element went out on us again…..lukewarm coffee, and the enamel paint was peeling just above the hot plate. It bubbled up and flaked off in big pieces to reveal the bare metal beneath it. I am very disappointed to have spent $130. + dollars on this item. Last week we bought a new coffemaker for $69., and I threw the other one out. Don’t waste your money……2 coffemakers and the element went on both of them. I only hope our toaster lasts……
I loved my old Sunbeam mixer but after 40 years it gave out. The new Halmilton Beach Eclectrics Stand Mixer is sturdy and quiet. I’ve only had it a short while, but it appears to have plenty of power for my recipes. I like the slow mixing action that rotates the paddle around the bowl. It has a nice style for my kitchen and it seems sturdy.
Good value for the money(we had shopped on-line and in stores for a couple weeks).
The two things I don’t like about it are that it’s impossible to scrape the side of the bowl without removing it from the base (my old Sunbeam could do this) and it takes two hands to flip up the mixer head from the bowl.
I bought this mixer as my first Amazon purchase in 2006. (I am not going back to review my items, ha)
I still use this mixer to this day. I make pizza dough almost weekly in here for pizza’s and garlic knots.
This mixer has not given my one ounce of problems. Cakes, whipped cream, batter, you name it, I have mixed it in here.
I even had a hand problem a year or so back where I was in a cast for a few weeks, and I used this thing to mix my home made meatballs.
I am starting to outgrow this mixer though, I am growing in my cooking, and want to start making my own pasta and sausages. Without the attachment on the front, I am starting to lok toward Kitchen Aid.
This is a great alternative to a Kitchen Aid if you don’t want to spend the money. Motor is just as strong, and the mixer spins the same. It gets the sides pretty well.
4 stars are for a great product, but I am starting to miss the attachment option.
I really enjoy using this mixer. It has enough power and is not loud at all. Easy to use. Love it!!
The plastic thing that is supposed to make it easier to add product is highly overrated. Also the splatter guard gets in the way when you are trying to scrape the sides of the bowl. Throw them away and you have a great mixer.
